Hotel Ballrooms in Dubai

The classic choice for a large seated dinner: pillar-free rooms with high ceilings, in-house catering teams who have done this a thousand times, and the foyers, suites and parking that a big guest list needs. We help you compare ballrooms on what matters: capacity, inclusions and flexibility.

What to expect

A ballroom wedding or gala is as much about the hotel around it as the room itself. Pre-function foyers host the welcome reception, a bridal suite or green room sits close by, and guests can stay overnight. Dubai’s hotels range from palatial beachfront properties to sleek business hotels downtown, and each carries a distinct atmosphere into the evening.

Capacity figures are worth reading carefully. A room that holds a thousand for a cocktail may seat far fewer at round tables with a dance floor and stage. Ask for a floor plan drawn for your actual numbers, and ask what the room looks like with its standard lighting and linen before you budget for décor.

In-house catering is the norm in hotels, which simplifies logistics but limits outside suppliers. Most kitchens handle Arabic, Indian, Asian and international menus well, and many can arrange tastings for larger bookings.

How pricing works

What moves the number

No two quotes are built the same way. These are the four things that decide yours, and the reason our quotes itemise them.

01

Room hire or minimum spend

Venues charge either a hire fee or a minimum spend on food and drink. Hotels lean to minimum spend; standalone venues to hire fees plus catering.

02

Per-person food and drink

Menus are priced per guest by tier and service style. Children, suppliers and late-night snacks are usually priced separately.

03

Date and season

Cooler-season weekends carry the highest prices. Weekdays, summer and shoulder months are noticeably better value.

04

What is included

Furniture, linen, basic lighting and sound, staffing and parking vary by venue. The inclusions list decides the real comparison.

Questions to ask before you book
  1. What is the seated capacity with a dance floor and stage for my numbers?
  2. What exactly is included in the hire or minimum spend, and what is extra?
  3. Is outside catering allowed, and on what terms?
  4. What are the sound limits and the curfew, indoors and outdoors?
  5. What is the wet-weather or heat plan, and who decides on the day?
  6. Which permits does my event need, and who arranges them?

Questions we hear most

What does a ballroom booking usually include?

Typically the room, standard furniture and linen, basic lighting and sound, and service staff, with food and beverage priced per person. Staging, audio-visual upgrades and décor are usually extra. Every quote we send lists the inclusions so you compare like with like.

Can we bring our own caterer into a hotel ballroom?

Rarely. Hotels almost always insist on their own kitchens, though many will accommodate a specialist, for example a live dosa station or a wedding cake from outside, for a fee. Tell us your priorities and we will shortlist accordingly.

Is parking and accommodation handled by the hotel?

Usually yes. Most hotels offer valet or self-parking and discounted room blocks for wedding guests. Ask for the room-block terms in writing, including release dates.
